Chinatown Food Tour
You will believe you have traveled around the world when you pass through the Chinatown gates on Wentworth Avenue into a scene filled with the sights, sounds and flavors of far away China. Your chef/guide will direct your attention to art and architecture and tell the story of Chinese immigration to Chicago. And along the way, you will receive a sampling of Chinese cuisine to illustrate the variety of flavors and kitchen customs. The culinary experience will include dim sum, noodles, pastries and beverages from various provinces, as well as a visit to a local grocery store to understand the ingredients and how they are used. Later, there will be a walk down sidestreets to Ping Tom Park along the banks of the south branch of the Chicago River for examples of landscaping and architectural styles that are a blend of China and historic Chicago.
